Jazz Festival

After a decade of chili cookoffs in Imperial Beach, the seaside town is dropping the crockpot in favor of jazz. With a new name, The Imperial Beach Jazz Festival, and a new location, Dunes Park, this year's festival goers will find the same music, crafts and street buzz, but no chili cookoff.

The 2004 festival will be held in Dunes Park on Seacoast Drive and the beach area. The jazz festival and street fair will takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with local school bands in the morning and jazz pros in the afternoon.

This year's festival benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Imperial Beach, the I.B. Health Center, the I.B. Chamber of Commerce, the Children's Treatment Center and the ReachOut to Families Center.
